Featuring Clinician, Wayne G. Hipsley, B.Sc., MSc

 

Wayne G. Hipsley is an internationally recognized educator, horse show judge, and equine evaluation expert with more than 50 years of experience in the horse industry.

 

He is the founder and head trainer of the Norwegian Fjord Horse Registry’s Evaluator Training Program and served for many years as the Registry’s Head Evaluator. Wayne is the author of Guidelines and Handbook for Judging Fjord Horses and a recipient of the Norwegian Fjord Horse Registry Outstanding Service Award.

Clinic Format

• Live, hands-on evaluation in a small group setting
• Real-time explanation and discussion
• Emphasis on form, function, and movement

Please note:

  • Space is limited.

  • Registration closes July 18, 2026.

  • No auditors or guests may be added after the registration deadline.

  • Videos of the assessments will be made available free of charge after the event.   Links will be sent to everyone completing the interest form.

  • A liability and photo release is required as part of the registration.  Attention: "Under Virginia law, an equine activity sponsor or equine professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities."  Code of Virginia 3.2-6200 through 3.2-6203

What You Will Experience

• Assessment of individual horses
• Comparisons among like groups of horses
• Instruction and printed information designed to help participants develop an educated eye for conformation

  • Estimated clinic length: 3 to 3.5 hours

  • Young maiden mares

  • Young stallions

 

Additional Information

  • The clinic will be professionally photographed and recorded.

  • Edited videos will be released after the event.

  • Auditors may take photos and videos for personal use only and may ask questions during the assessments summary.

  • Please be aware that audience questions and Wayne’s responses will be recorded.

 

Saturday Reception for Wayne Hipsley

4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

The catered reception is FREE, but registration is required so we can confirm catering numbers.

Please note there will be a break between the clinic and reception while the hosts prepare the reception space.
