SF Saska (DOB 4/11/1992) Sire: Holunder Dam: Sonia I

Saska is a brown dun mare from imported lines and has dual registration with the NFHR and Dutch registries. She has been inspected and has a red ribbon in conformation. We purchased Saska from the Beaver Dam Farm consignment program and bred her to Gjest. Her 2001 colt, Ironwood Blitzen, is our farm stallion. Saska also as produced a gray dun colt, Ironwood Crow Hreidar, and a brown dun filly, Ironwood Galiana. She has caught by live cover and AI. She’s an excellent mother.

The only reason we are are selling her is that she is directly related to our stallion and we are keeping two of her offspring. She is current open for 2008.

Saska is 14.1 hands with excellent bone and substance. She has had some dressage training in the past and has been in our lesson program for years. She works quietly in the ring, on trails, and on the ground. Saska also DRIVES as a single or in a pair. She is a strong mare and not suitable for a young child or beginner adult rider. She has pleasant movement and a willingness to please, but she requires a more educated hand. An intermediate rider or driver would enjoy Saska!

UTD on shots and vaccination, excellent with the farrier and vet, and no problems loading. DVD available.

Ironwood Julian (DOB 7/25/06) Sire: Ironwood Blitzen Dam: Helle

Julian is a brown dun son of Helle and Blitzen. This combination produces a tall foal with wonderful movement. Julian is very sweet and curious. He leads, stands for the farrier, and is good with the vet. He loves attention. Julian was gelded in January, 2007. He will be tall. Helle is 14.3 and Julian looks like he will easily reach 14.2 or taller. UTD on all shots. DVD available.

Ironwood Kristiana (DOB 7/27/06) Sire: Ironwood Blitzen Dam: FC Madellin

Kristi is a lovely brown dun filly with an exquisite head. She is out of our stunning white dun mare, Madellin. Kristi has her dam’s feminine good looks, is personable and loves being handled. She would be an asset to a breeding program or just a lovely family horse. UTD on all shots. DVD available. Her price will go up as we start training her for driving and under saddle.

Ironwood Nico (DOB 9/5/07) Sire: Ironwood Blitzen Dam: Lynnhaven Elli

 Nico is the third colt from this breeding combination. His full brother Ironwood Erik Aleksander is currently in dressage training. His other brother, Ironwood Isfjell, a red dun, is part of a therapeutic riding program. Nico is out of our blue ribbon conformation mare, Elli, and our stallion Blitzen. This brown dun gelding is line bred to Gjest, one of the best known performance stallions in North America.  He has solid potential as a performance horse. Nico has an outgoing temperament and is fond being scratched. He is for sale upon weaning and will be gelded at that time. We expect Nico to mature to 14.1 hands tall.
