HAZELWe are also fortunate to have great food down the road from us. The Hazel River Inn is a wonderful bed and breakfast that offers a fantastic dining experience at a reasonable cost. Its owners, Peter and Karen, have opened a second restaurant, Hazel River Restaurant in Culpeper. We highly recommend both locations.

house-433x270  A r e c e n t a d d it i o n t o t h e neighborhood has been a bed-and-breakfast, the Perennial Inn at Desiderata Farm owned and operated by Mary Potter.  Mary offers accommodation for horse oriented people, including stabling.  Her food is fabulous.  She even has as advanced level eventer and trainer, Jim Moore, working out of her barn. We love taking lessons with Jim whenever we get the chance.   If you need a place to stay in Rixeyville, the Perennial Inn is the place!

Imag00023Another neighbor, Joyce Freitag, is a master gardener.

She operates Country Flower Gardens, an on-line business that sells day lilies, iris, peonies and related plants. Thanks to Joyce, our front entrance looks wonderful!  Her gardens are to die for! Look at her web site and see what we mean.
